Aronov Homes Donates $60,000 To Local Charities

Montgomery, Alabama - Aronov Homes today donated net profits from the sale of the “WSFA 12 Today In Alabama” home during a live broadcast on the popular morning show.

Checks for $30,000 each were presented to Brantwood Children’s Home and The Montgomery Area Food Bank by James Hamner, President of Aronov Homes. Programs at both Brantwood and the Food Bank have been greatly affected by underfunding.

“Brantwood and the Food Bank have done so much to help our community over the years,” states James Hamner of Aronov Homes. “We just felt it appropriate to help them continue their mission at a time when they could use a hand themselves.”

The interactive Aronov Homes/WSFA 12 promotion allowed viewers to vote on home selections like floorplan, elevation, color schemes, materials, kitchen appliances, etc. via the Internet during the four-month promotion. During this time, over 61,300 page views for “Today In Alabama Builds A Home With Aronov Homes” were recorded on wsfa.com.

“WSFA 12 is thankful to be a part of such a wonderful, community spirited project,” stated Edith Parten, Marketing Director for WSFA 12. “We thank our viewers and everyone who voted on wsfa.com. Seeing the surprised expression on the faces of the representatives from the Montgomery Area Food Bank and the Brantwood Children’s Home when presented with the checks almost brought us to tears. A heartfelt thanks to our viewers, the community and the entire WSFA 12 Team for making this project a success and a big thanks to Aronov Homes and their vendors for their generosity,” she continued.

“The Montgomery Area Food Bank is extremely pleased to have been selected as a co-recipient of the profits,” stated Parke Hinman, Director. “Funding for our operation and special programs has been very hard to come by while at the same time the demand for our services has continued to increase. For every dollar we receive from this donation, we can provide 14 pounds of food for distribution to the needy. We are overwhelmed by this generous gift.”

“This is a wonderful, innovative way for Aronov Homes to involve the community, increase public awareness and provide much-needed financial support for local charities during these economically challenging times,” stated Anita Barrera, President of the Board of Brantwood Children’s Home. “Aronov is truly helping Brantwood provide a home for children who need one. Together we are providing opportunities for life while making the community a better place. Brantwood Children’s Home provides care and supervision for children who are dependent, neglected and/or abused and in need of care away from the parental home. This incredible gift from Aronov Homes helps us continue our important mission,” she continued.

The home is located in Montgomery’s Deer Creek subdivision off Vaughn Road.

“A gift of this magnitude to these deserving organizations would not have been possible without the support of our generous building suppliers, many of whom donated all materials and labor for the home,” stated James Hamner.
