New Look For Bristol Mall Cinema 6 - Theater To Get a $2.5 Million Renovation

Bristol, Virginia - When moviegoers enter the all-new Bristol Mall Cinema 6 this May, they will be greeted by the latest first-run movies in an innovative, first-class entertainment environment including stadium seating, giant screens and generous legroom. Bristol Mall management recently made the announcement of the $2.5 million renovation and acquisition of the cinemas by Chicago-based Village Entertainment. The renovations are slated to begin in February.

“We are excited about the plans Village Entertainment has for the cinemas,” said Harry Esenwine, Bristol Mall Manager. “I think people are going to be thrilled when they see the quality and the scope of amenities of the all new Bristol Mall Cinema 6. It will offer the highest quality entertainment environment and the lowest ticket prices in the area -- the perfect combination for area families! It will be a wonderful complement for our mall, where people in the Tri-Cities can come to shop, eat and be entertained.”

Among the major improvements on tap for the cinemas are stadium seating in all auditoriums, the only giant wall-to-wall curved screens in the area, Dolby Digital Surround Sound, the finest projection equipment, and large seats with generous leg room. In addition, moviegoers will be welcomed by “lower than average” admission costs featuring Village Entertainment’s “family friendly pricing.”

“Village Entertainment locations offer lower priced first-run movies in first-class surroundings with state-of-the-art accommodations,” stated Ron Rooding, President of Village Entertainment. “Our commitment is to offer reasonably-priced entertainment in facilities which are indistinguishable from those of the more expensive first -run theatres,” he continued.

To expand on their customer friendly environment, Village Entertainment plans to embrace the Tri-Cities community by active participation and involvement including benefits for community groups, working with social service agencies and schools to provide special programming, donating movie passes to local charitable organizations and being involved in community development and employment initiatives. The new Bristol Cinema 6 also plans to host film clubs, charity events, family days and digital presentations of major sports and entertainment events.

Once completed, the theater will employ approximately 25 full and part-time staff.
