Hot Springs Mall Announces Bright New Look
Hot Springs, AR - The excitement was electrifying today as Hot Springs Mall
officials announced the details of an extensive renovation of the existing mall complex
and the addition of unique amenities. Serving a trade area population of over 384,000,
Hot Springs Mall has been a popular shopping destination since its opening in 1982.
“We have continually refreshed the merchant mix with new store openings and now, with
the complete renovation of the interior of the shopping center, we are delighted
to provide shoppers with a brighter, exciting and even more comfortable environment in
which to shop,” said Bruce Harvey, General Manager of Hot Springs Mall. “We want to
ensure that shopping at Hot Springs Mall is a great experience for every family
member on every visit. This extensive renovation effort is our commitment to Hot
Springs Mall shoppers and our way of thanking them for their loyalty,” said Harvey.
Montgomery, Alabama-based Aronov Realty Management, Inc., who leases and manages the mall,
announced that work is set to begin in the first quarter of 2005.
Hot Springs Mall will welcome shoppers with a warm new color scheme including a patterned
carpet design combining earth tones and accent colors. The new center court fountain will
be a focal point of the enhanced interior of the mall which will feature new lighting,
new ceilings and new interior landscaping. Exterior mall renovations include improvements
to the parking areas, upgraded lighting as well as new landscaping.
One of the highlights of the renovation will be the introduction of the area’s first
“residential-style” soft seating areas. Placed throughout the mall, these areas will
create “at home” comfort with soft, cushioned furniture, tables and lamps, all on beautiful
new carpeting. A new Customer Service Center will complement the other new furnishings in the
mall. Improved accessibility and a host of shopping services will be available through the
custom-designed center.
“Our goal is to bring to customers throughout the area a shopping mall that looks brand new
and to provide them with a comfortable environment to shop their favorite stores all under
one roof,” said John Bemis, Senior Vice President of the Shopping Center Division of Aronov
Realty Management.
The construction will be carried out in stages with little or no inconvenience to retailers
or shoppers. All stores will remain open during regular operating hours. “We're going to make
shopping at Hot Springs Mall interesting, fun and exciting during the renovation with planned
activities that will carry out our renovation theme,” said Harvey.
Hot Springs Mall, which is anchored by Dillards, JCPenney and Sears, employs more than 800
people from the Garland County area. With annual sales of approximately $70 million, the mall
generates approximately $6 million in city and county tax revenue each year.
